"My name is Cheryl and I met Lia when she would deliver grocery orders for me from time to time and we just hit it off because we love kitties. In December of 2025 our 3rd cat Charlie was a stray that decided to stick around and I didn’t know what to do at the time because we thought he was a she and pregnant! I reached out to Lia and explained to her what was happening here and without hesitation. She came and picked up Charlie the same day I had to take our dog Dozer in to be euthanized. She took him to her vet for a check up and he was generally healthy and was already neutered! We then decided to make Charlie a part of our family. If it wasn’t for Lia’s act of kindness and her love to help kitties Charlie may not be with us today. I’m also thankful for having Lia has a friend. "I first came across Lia and her mission about a year ago through a mutual acquaintance, and I was immediately enamored with her work. As I continued to follow her sanctuary, I found myself in a situation where I discovered a lonesome kitten crying alone at a park. With Lia's assistance and insight, I was able to safely secure this kitten, and he is now a member of my sister's family, happy and thriving.
Even with the number of cats she's worked to help, the sanctuary is beautiful and well cared for even more so than the average pet owner's home and I was in awe when I first saw it. There are so many friendly felines thankful for the safety and security, and even a few shy and skittish ones that wouldn't be happy in a traditional home but feel right at home on the property. "Last December, my husband and I realized that our outdoor rescue cat Buddy was lonely. It was especially cold outside and despite having a sun room and garage and heated bed, we weren't able to spend as much time with him. I suddenly knew that Buddy needed a friend to cuddle, play and hang out with, but this would be a tough find because he is a rambunctious 2 year old who is used to being the only cat! I had found Lia's rescue organization a year before and still had her card in my desk, so I called her and she immediately picked up.
She was very busy but listened to my predicament and informed me that she knew just that cat that would fit the bill for our dear Buddy! She also informed me that if this particular cat didn't work out that she would come and pick him up and bring another one until we found the perfect companion for our sweet orange boy. The next day she came with a gorgeous 7 year old gray male named Smokey.
The boys instantly liked each other and there was never even a hiss! When Lia came the following day to see how they were getting along we caught the new friends sleeping together in the same bed even though there were two heated beds. I think we both had tears in our eyes when we peered in the room and those precious cats looked back at us like "hey, thank you for my new brother!" Lia is a true expert at hooking up the right cats with the right families and I am forever thankful for her intuition, care, insight and generosity. She is a true blessing "

"This past Spring, my wife and I came across a very sick and malnourished kitten. We called Lia right away to get advice on what we should do next to help the little guy and also figure out if and how we would acclimate him with two adult cats. Lia came that same day and checked the kitten for fleas, ticks and overall health, made an appointment for him to get vaccinations and neutering and helped acclimate our three cats together.
By the way, we named our sight-challenged kitten "Magoo" after the cartoon character "Mr. Magoo" and our three boys are the best of friends that play and snuggle together and are a source of endless entertainment and love for their humans! "I have had the privilege of seeing firsthand the incredible work Lia does for cats and kittens in need. Lia doesn’t simply rescue animals, she gives them a second chance at life. She helped rescue my cat and her seven kittens from a life of homelessness, and I will always be grateful for the compassion, dedication, and love she showed them.
Over the past 2.5 years, from just one cat colony in my immediate neighborhood, Lia has rescued minimally 40 cats and kittens and counting. The number is almost hard to comprehend, but behind every number is a life that needed help. Lia depends solely on donations to continue this work, and every donation helps provide the food, veterinary care, TNR, fostering, and rescue these animals need.
We are currently working with Lia as she continues her efforts to TNR a cat colony on my street. Watching her work, I have seen how much time, patience, and determination this takes. Her efforts are not only helping the cats that are here today, but are helping to stop the unchecked cycle of kittens being born and continuing the heartbreaking cycle of homelessness. Through TNR, rescue, fostering and adoption, Lia is helping create a healthier and more hopeful future for these cats.
